How we handle the personal information you choose to share with us when you enquire about buying or selling a vehicle.
Last updated: 31 October 2026
1. Who we are
Cheshire Prestige Motors Ltd is the controller of personal information we receive in connection with enquiries made through this website.
Company number: 17530783
Registered office: 10 Clydesdale Road, Appleton, Warrington, WA4 3AY
Email: [email protected]
2. Information we may collect
When you contact us by email, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number, vehicle preferences, and any other details you choose to provide. If you enquire about selling a car, this may include its make, model, year, mileage, registration and other vehicle information. Please do not send sensitive personal or financial documents unless we specifically request them through an appropriate channel.
Our website hosting and security providers may also process technical information, such as IP addresses, device/browser information and request logs, to deliver and protect the website.
3. How we use information and our legal bases
- To respond to enquiries and discuss possible vehicle purchases or sales — our legitimate interests in operating the business, or steps requested before entering a contract.
- To assess a vehicle you may wish to sell or place on sale or return — our legitimate interests and, where relevant, pre-contract steps.
- To keep appropriate business records and meet legal obligations, where applicable.
- To maintain website security and prevent misuse — our legitimate interests in operating a secure service.
We do not use website enquiries to send unsolicited marketing emails. If we introduce marketing subscriptions later, we will explain the relevant choices and permissions.
4. Who may receive your information
We use service providers to operate our website and business communications, including Cloudflare for website delivery, security and Turnstile anti-spam verification, Google Workspace for business email, and Resend for delivery of website form enquiries. Website form submissions are sent to our business email; they are not stored in a public database by this website. They may process relevant data on our behalf under their own service terms. We may share information with professional advisers, regulators or other parties where required by law or where reasonably necessary for a transaction, with appropriate safeguards.
5. International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires it, we rely on appropriate transfer safeguards or other lawful mechanisms.
6. Cookies, fonts and analytics
We use essential technologies needed to deliver the website and protect its enquiry forms, including Cloudflare security checks. We also offer optional Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to measure visits, pages viewed and successful enquiry submissions so we can improve the website. Analytics is disabled unless you select “Accept analytics” in our cookie notice. If you reject it, Google Analytics is not loaded and the enquiry forms continue to work. If you accept, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_*, typically retained for up to two years, subject to browser and Google settings. Analytics data may be processed internationally under applicable safeguards. We do not deliberately send names, email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registrations or enquiry contents to Analytics. You can change your choice using “Cookie preferences” in the website footer. Withdrawing consent stops further analytics collection on this website and attempts to remove its first-party analytics cookies. We use system fonts rather than loading Google Fonts. We do not currently deploy advertising cookies.
7. How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, follow up on an ongoing discussion, maintain appropriate records or comply with legal obligations. Retention depends on the nature of the enquiry and whether a transaction follows. You can contact us to ask about information we hold about you.
8. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access, correct or erase your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, and request data portability. You can contact us using the email above to exercise your rights. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
9. Security and third-party links
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information. However, email and internet communications cannot be guaranteed completely secure. If you follow links to third-party websites, their own privacy notices apply.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business and website develop. The latest version will be published here with its updated date.
